Exciting Opportunity For Great Scholarship in the UK for International Students at the University of York
In collaboration with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of York is thrilled to offer 5 scholarships to outstanding international students pursuing postgraduate degrees.
This exceptional program, known as the GREAT Scholarship 2024, has been launched by the British Council in partnership with 72 UK universities to support students from 15 countries in accessing world-class higher education opportunities in the United Kingdom.
The scholarship program provides a generous financial aid package of at least £10,000 to students enrolling in one-year postgraduate programs across a wide range of subjects. Eligible students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Greece, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam are encouraged to apply for these scholarships at any of the 72 participating institutions located in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Applicants will be evaluated based on their written application and previous academic achievements. Preference will be given to candidates with exceptional academic records, such as those holding a UK first-class degree or an equivalent qualification.

To be considered for this prestigious scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Citizenship: You must be a citizen of China, Ghana, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, or Turkey.
2. Fee Status: You must be eligible to pay tuition fees at the overseas rate, with all fee assessments completed by May 20, 2024.
3. Language Proficiency: Any language requirements for your offer must be met by May 20, 2024.
4. Offer of Admission: You must have received a conditional or unconditional offer to study a one-year postgraduate taught course at the University of York by May 20, 2024 (acceptance of the offer is not required).
Nigerian students are eligible to apply if they have an offer to study one of the following courses:
- – LLM Law
- LLM Art Law
- LLM International Corporate and commercial Law
- LLM International Human Rights Law and Practice
- LLM Legal and Political Theory
- MA Applied Human Rights
Please note that the following circumstances may render you ineligible for the scholarship:
- Holding a 100% tuition fee scholarship or being fully sponsored
- Being a current student at the University of York, having started your studies in a previous year
- Applying for programs at the Hull York Medical School, International Pathway College, distance/online learning courses, part-time courses, Kaplan International College London, GEMMA, CASPPER, Mundus MAPP, or any master’s course lasting longer than one year.
