Scholarship are offered by the Canadian government and many higher education institutions to international students, along with grants, awards, and bursaries, to assist them in financing their education.

Individual applicants must complete application processes to keep their scholarships. It is also necessary to keep the deadlines in mind and apply before the deadline to avoid being rejected. There are also a limited number of Canadian scholarships available.

Why should you study in Canada?

One outstanding feature of Canada is that it has two official languages: English and French. The people of Canada are very friendly, and the environment is welcoming to international students.

Computer Science and IT, Media Journalism, Agricultural Science and Forestry, Business and Finance, and a variety of other courses are available.

Studying in Canada is much less expensive than studying in the United Kingdom, the United States, or Australia. The costs vary greatly depending on the school.

However, in general, undergraduate programs cost between CA$20,000 and CA$30,000. Postgraduate programs are slightly less expensive and may cost around CA$16000 per year.

Students have the right to work 20 hours per week during semesters and full-time during breaks.

Available Scholarships in Canada

The following are some of the scholarships available in Canada, as well as the required information for their application.

1.The Canadian Visa Study Hub $500 Scholarship Competition

This scholarship is available to current international students and postgraduate workers in Canada.

It gives members of the Canada Visa Study Hub the chance to win $500 every month.

This is done through random selection. The contest is available online through the Study Hub. There is no application deadline.

Qualification for the Application

  • Join the Canada Visa Study Hub today.
  • Possess a current study permit and/or postgraduate work permit.
  • Show proof of enrollment in a Canadian higher education institution.

2. The Master’s Program of Canadian Graduate Scholarships (CGS M)

The CGS M scholarship program supports research in the fields of health, engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities for all international students with permanent residency.

Up to 2000 students enrolled in Canadian higher education institutions will benefit from the program. The application must be made via the Research Portal.

Eligibility

  • You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Be a Master’s or Doctoral student, or an applicant to a Canadian institution with a CGS M allocation.
  • You cannot have previously received the scholarship.
  • Has the first-rate average.

3. Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS)

The scholarship helps graduate students fund their studies. It is worth between $10000 and $15000, depending on the number of terms.

It is supported by the Ontario government and the destination school. The deadline varies depending on the department or program of study.

Eligibility

The applicant must:

  • Be enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program.
  • Be enrolled in full-time studies for two or more terms.
  • Have a valid study permit.
  • Attend a participating Ontario school.

4. The University of British Columbia’s Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award (undergraduate scholarship)

Eligibility

The candidate must:

  • Be pursuing his/her first degree
  • Consider yourself an international student.
  • You must have graduated from a recognized secondary school.
  • Be a straight-A student.
  • Show a high level of financial need.
  • By January 2020, you must have met the UBC English language admission requirement.

5. Graduate Fellowship (Master’s and Ph.D.) at the University of Manitoba

The scholarship receives $2.1 million in annual funding. It is open to all students, regardless of nationality, and is open to all faculties except MBA students.

Eligibility

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for applicants, though some faculties require a higher GPA.
  • He must be a full-time student with no financial support.
  • Calgary University (private-sector sponsored scholarships)

The average tuition is $27,799.

6. Western University of Canada (MBA scholarship)

  • A Bachelor of Business Administration or Commerce degree.
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience is required.
