What Is Rhoda’s scholarship?
The Rhodes Scholarship is a fully funded, full-time postgraduate award that allows talented young people from all over the world to study at Oxford.
Applying for the Scholarship is a difficult task, but it has helped generations of young people succeed. We welcome applications from talented students from all over the world.
Rhodes Scholars spend two or more years in the United Kingdom and can apply to most full-time postgraduate courses at Oxford University.
Scholarship Aim
One of the Scholarship’s founding goals is to identify young leaders from around the world who, by pursuing education at Oxford together, would forge bonds of mutual understanding and fellowship for the betterment of humanity.

Sponsorship worth
In the first instance, the Rhodes Scholarship is for two years. The Rhodes Scholarship covers tuition at Oxford University (and College) as well as an annual stipend.
The stipend for the 2021/22 academic year will be £17,310 per year (£1,442.50 per month), from which Scholars will pay all living expenses, including housing.

Application procedures
Applications will be accepted beginning on June 1 or July 1, 2022.

Criteria for Eligibility
All Rhodes Scholarship applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements.
- Citizenship and residency requirements: Each applicant must meet the Rhodes constituency citizenship and residency requirement.
- Education: All applicants must have advanced academic standing to ensure completion of a bachelor’s degree by the following October. Academic standing must be sufficiently high to ensure admission to the University of Oxford, which has extremely competitive entry requirements and to assure that Rhodes Scholars will perform academically to a high standard in Oxford. Individual constituencies may designate a first or equivalent. Some constituencies require a bachelor’s degree earned within the constituency of application.
- Age: You must be at least 18 years old and not have turned 25 on October 1, 2022. (i.e. you must have been born after 1 October 1997 and on or before 1 October 2004) OR (for older candidates who completed their first undergraduate degree later than usual). You must be under the age of 27 on 1 October 2022 (born after 1 October 1995) AND have met or will meet the academic requirements for completing your first degree on or after 1 July 2021.
